Amino Freak

Even though you might be more inclined to think of Scandinavian countries when you think of bodybuilding, the British nutritional supply company PharmaFreak has supposedly created the most advanced amino acid supplement on the market today.

Since Amino Freak is supposed to blow the rest of the competition out of the water, we decided to take a closer look at this pre-workout supplement to see what it could really offer.

Pros

If the only thing you knew about Amino Freak was its name, then you could probably guess enough to know that this product is supposed to deliver amino acids into your body so that you have more of what it takes to build more muscle tissues and repair damaged ones.

However, Amino Freak doesn’t just stop at amino acids; this pre-workout supplement also claims to have what it takes to reduce the amount of muscles that your body naturally breaks down.

The hormone Cortisol is responsible for the catabolic breakdown of muscles, which is why Amino Freak claims to be able to inhibit your body from producing any of this stress hormone.

Cons

Although Cortisol can cause your body to break down muscle, it is also responsible for the breakdown of fat; meaning that your metabolism runs better when you have a healthy amount of Cortisol.

With an inhibited supply, you could find yourself gaining weight and losing definition of your muscles.

Another thing about Amino Freak that is disappointing is that there isn’t much innovation in its formula. The ingredient that is supposed to be so cutting edge is nothing more than a BCAA ratio which means that it is a branched chain amino acid complex.

Although these amino acids might sound like they are new and improved, BCAA is really just a subcategory of amino acids, meaning that the amino acids in Amino Freak are only a certain type, specifically those with aliphatic side chains made out of carbon atoms.

Unfortunately, this specification of amino acids doesn’t make this supplement any more effective, nor does it help your body absorb the amino acids any better than you would from a cheaper pre-workout supplement.

Our Opinion

Since Amino Freak has turned out to be no better than any other amino acid supplement on the market today, we’re not sure that it is worth the very steep price of $60 per month.
