Formadrol
Formadrol is another testosterone booster from a company called LG-Sciences. It is designed to reduce the potency of estrogen while also providing your body with raw materials it can use to create testosterone. Adopting these two approaches, Formadrol hopes to help customers experience better gains in muscle mass and strength. These kind of results are what you would expect from a good testosterone booster but is Formadrol formulated to provide them?
Ingredients
The first two ingredients in Formadrol’s blend are 3a-Hydroxyetioallocholan-17-one and 1,4,6-etioallocholan-dione. These compounds have been engineered by LG Sciences to supposedly supply the body with a precursor to a precursor to testosterone. Both of these ingredients are based on etioallocholan. Etioallocholan is apparently a precursor to Androsterone which is a precursor of testosterone. So these compounds are basically pro-prohormones. Sadly, we could find no clinical evidence to support how effective or safe they could be. As prohormones though they may cause potential side effects.
Diadzein is the third ingredient on Formadrol’s label. They probably mean Daidzein (they have the “i” and the “a” switched). This compound which is a type of isoflavone known for its ability to interact with estrogen in the human body. Some studies have shown that Daidzein can make estrogen receptors less functional. This prevents estrogen from connecting with binding sites. If estrogen can’t bind to the body’s receptors, it can’t be expressed. Limiting estrogen expression tips the body’s hormonal balance toward a more anabolic friendly state.
Conclusion
Daidzein is a decent ingredient but we are still a little wary of 3a-Hydroxyetioallocholan-17-one and 1,4,6-etioallocholan-dione. With so little research and information on these compounds, we feel that they might be too risky to try. Word of mouth also suggests that Formadrol is not the most effective supplement LG Scieneces has made. With poor consumer feedback combined with untested ingredients, we would suggest passing on Formadrol and looking for something else.
