Noxipro
Noxipro is a pre-workout supplement that has been developed by CTD Labs to increase strength, endurance and mental focus.
Since it claims to use ingredients that are of pharmaceutical grade quality, we decided to look into Noxipro to see what it really had to offer.
Background
Noxipro’s main claim to pharmaceutical fame is based on one ingredient: N-Carbamyl Glutamate. This ingredient is supposed to be able to activate an enzyme that has been found to be responsible for the synthesis of arginine.
There are many pre-workout supplements that claim to be able to raise the levels of arginine in the body; in fact, the ingredient Citrulline has been found to be the cheapest and most effective way to do it.
But there have been some interesting studies done on N-Carbamyl Glutamate that caught our eye enough to continue looking into it.
History
A few studies done by Chinese and American scientists revealed that N-Carbamyl Glutamate might be able to help piglets synthesize more protein and tissues in order to gain growth faster.
As you can imagine, these studies were initially embraced for this ingredient’s ability to increase growth in not only livestock, but the world of bodybuilding would be greatly changed by this ingredient.
However, the hope for human use was soon deflated once they tried it out and didn’t see much change. After further investigation, they found that the piglets only saw growth because this supplement helped keep them from diarrhea.
Unsurprisingly, pigsties, where piglets spend most of their lives, are full of bacteria and parasites, making diarrhea a huge problem and can severely stunt growth.
Since most humans don’t have to worry about diarrhea infringing their growth, N-Carbamyl didn’t help them grow very significantly.
Our Opinion
Although N-Carbamyl Glutamate is now used for pharmaceutical reasons to help those who have a propensity toward sickness like diarrhea, it doesn’t mean that it is a prescription strength muscle builder.
All in all, we think there are many other supplements that have the same strength as Noxipro without the high cost.
